Bots vs Browsers - database of 875,178 user agents and growing
|
2006.8.15 - Two weeks, 15 new bots
Over the past 2 weeks we've had 15 new bots cross our path.
In addition, our database grew by about a thousand new user agents.
Here's the bots of interest that showed up:
-
Robozilla/1.0 stomped through our logs, toppling buildings and leaving debris in its path
related...
-
In a crafty attempt to get a free linkin to their site,
Forex Trading Network Organization
left it's mark on our logs with embedded HTML to try and force us to link to them. Luckily, our site escapes HTML tags with proper encoding, so the plot was foiled.
But seriously, nice try - I'm sure it will work on lots of other sites.

-
DNS-Digger/1.0 dug around our sites, harvesting their mission critical DNS information

related...
-
In other news, NewsGator FetchLinks extension/0.2.0 read up on ours, apparently trying to fetch links
related...
-
Jyxobot/1 passed by for it's debut in our web logs
related...
-
A new heritrix/1.6.0 came by, claiming its origin is from innovationblog.com

and plain old GoogleBot

As usual, FindLinks is still progressing by leaps and bounds, sporting a new beta
(findlinks/1.1.3-beta7)
